cop shoots dog
did anyone see this yet?

pretty crazy. i think the cop did the right thing.
looks like the dog attacked the lady first then went for the cop.
i would of shot the dog twice.

nyc cops i dont think carry tasers or stun guns? correct me if im wrong.

That was a risky shot - his partner was in the same general direction.

Looking at the dog's demeanor (wagging his tail and didn't seem to be growling (that I could hear) I don't think it was warranted...

wow really? No way I would have shot that dog!! Show me a dog that wouldn't act like that with stranger crowding around it and it's owner.

It didn't even look to be dangerous.......videos like this make me sick and that cop is an absolute coward

so you didn't see the dog lunge at the woman? you didnt see the dog run at the cop?

risky shot? his partner was almost 90 degrees to his left.

Deep 3.2TL 08-16-2012 10:41 AM

Watch the video again. he was not 90 degrees and he was in motion, meaning the cop was tracking him. from the smoke of the gun the shot came from the cop on the right of the video, not the one in front of the dog, so I reiterate, the shot was risky.

oh i see it. so your saying they both shot? or was it one shot from the cop that got run at by the dog? what you think?

Deep 3.2TL 08-16-2012 10:55 AM

I can't turn up my speakers much at work, but it looks to me like there was 1 shot, from the cop on the right of the screen. The one in front jerked his hand back for fear of being bitten, but I don't see any smoke from his weapon.

Too bad the dog wasn't originally muzzled then the shooting may have been averted.

Jim .E. 08-16-2012 03:53 PM

shot came from the officer on the right only so as Deep's a risky shot

as for the people saying cop was in the wrong...I'll be the devils advocate here and say it as is cause people are too emotional. The dog did not have a muzzle on it, attacked a law enforcement officer and as such the officer was warranted to take action to protect himself. It's as simple as that!

Yes the cop could have "run away" and risk getting bitten, take time off work, get paid for that time off and rehabilitation etc..., eat more tax payers money. What a lovely situation, don't you agree?

But lets say he did run away and didn't get bitten. Animal services would still come in after the situation was handled. Where is that dog going to go? Not stay with the homeless person that's for sure. It's going to go into the pound where it will sit in a cage, and then after a few months they'll put it down cause no one wants to adopt it.

so the guy on the right shot? ya that is risky then. and kinda dumb haha

sirex 08-16-2012 06:22 PM

I dont get it.. So you guys are analyze the riskiness of that shot?

Are you kidding? The cop who was directly infront of the dog did the RIGHT thing by not shooting because as you can see their are humans directly infront of him.

The officer that is perpindicular to his partner has the clear shot because there are not humans in his line of fire.

**** that dog and **** bums that have animals on the street. take care of yourself first, you dont need a ****ing dog.

Deep 3.2TL 08-16-2012 06:31 PM

Either shot would was risky - Wanna see how much trouble he would have been in if it ricocheted?

sirex 08-16-2012 06:31 PM

haha ya ricochete woulda been nice.

Look at the comments on Youtube. Lots of cry babies. The dog is recovering in a animal hospital anyways. I would have shot the dog. I actually laughed because it was so predictable that it was going to get shot within the first 3 secs of it growling. People need to understand that human life comes before an animals well being. We're not even allowed to have these breeds of dogs here in Ontario for this exact reason.

sirex 08-16-2012 06:45 PM

I could kill an animal with my bare hands. When I was 12 I cared. Not anymore. Animals are for food and I would gladly kill them humanely.

The only people freaking out are women, children, and lady men.
