BMW performance exhaust?

Hi guys,
I need some advice.
I have a 323i 2007 and i was considering installing the BMW performance exhaust right from the BMW dealership. I wanted to know if anyone has done it and what was the turnout?
Its gona cost about 2 grands to buy it and install it so i wanted to make sure its worth it!
Thanks.

There are a lot of videos on YouTube of cars with the PE. Keep in mind that, although it says Performance Exhaust, don't expect it to give you much more than a more sporty / aggressive sound as the actual performance gains are negligible. Also, you're better off waiting to see if a GB or special is offered again on the PE if you're not in a rush because at $2k you are overpaying based on some of the prices I've seen in the past.

2K on an exhaust - wow..

I paid 200 for my muffler delete... sounds better (IMO), same level (if not more) performance gain.. it really frees up the top end... and 10% of the price..

Visualize what else you can buy with the saved $1800

How loud are we talking?

I just bought one in a group buy for $950 + gst and then $80 install....do not waste $2k if you are keen on it....you can also go the other route put a straight pipe (res +muffler delete) that will sound really loud and annoying....the BMW PE gives it a nice clean sporty sound if you need louder you can delete your cats.

I would love to see the dyno sheet from the muffler delete really freeing up the top end.

I'm guessing this is more of a butt dyno thing.

Find a Magnaflow exhaust on this site - I just bought a cat back exhaust on here for my 128i and it ships out of Woodbridge ON. Use the discount code vortex for 20% or 25% off.

I bought mine for <600$ shipped, should be arriving tomorrow :D:D:D

imo from the videos, the sound is much richer but as was said before the gains are not that crazy.. better off with a JB unit for gains and hiflow downpipe.

Really wanted a Bmw PE myself just for sound and looks. Mike at Maranello had a bunch of stock for half price clearance during the winter.. but missed my chance :(

Hopefully he'll find some stock!

I've got a BMW PE exhaust on my wife's '07 328i and it sounds great. Not quite as loud as the BMW PE exhaust we had on her old E93 335i. You can barely hear the exhaust from inside the car (windows shut) but definitely from outside. No noticeable power gains FTR.

+1 for muffler delete. Cost me $180 at a local shop. used my old tips and they used stainless steel piping. I love the sound of my car.

Those of you with the muffler deletes, any impact on your e-test results?

dbworld4k 06-07-2013 05:14 PM

Muffler deletes do NOT affect your emissions whatsoever.
