E36 adjustable rear control arms
2 Attachment(s)
There are two types
Type 1 (one) is a standard adjustable arm. +3 to -1 Solid steel construction. 225$ Type 2 (two) is an aluminum arm. +3 to -1 Aluminum construction light weight. 315$ Made by Eibach/SPC |
Are the rubber bushings replaceable on either one?
|
Just from looking at it on my work bench I'd say yes, but let me call eibach and double check it with them.
|
I assume they are oem bushings? Maybe when you call you can confirm.
|
Called eibach. Yes indeed the bushings can be changed. There is a kit availible from eibach/spc or oem can be used, but eibach recomends buying their kit... Of course.
|
How critical is the extra weight of the steel arm? From what I gather, they are heavier than the stock arms? Would you be able to get pricing on the TMS (rubber bushing) arms? I think they go for $300 USD, might be able to get a discount in bulk.
Also, where are the Eibach/SPC units made? USA? |
Eibach is american made yes. They are a decent quality producer.
I'd rate their products as street/track, meaning that they are not entirely race oriented. The weight will be a touch more than the stock Arms, but in a lot of aplications weight reduction isnt the goal. If you're a competative racer then perhaps tms or some other arm is a better choice. If you want to improve the strength and adjustability of your rear camber than these kits are perfect! |
I've got the aluminium ones and they're great - easily adjustable.
FYI i think you have your adjustment specs wrong - should be -3 to +1... not the other way around ;) Great price too! - Look BW to compare: http://store.bimmerworld.com/adjusta...46z4-p663.aspx GLWS! |
