Imaginary turbo build
just incase i win the lottery, i wanted to compile a list of the most insane uber expensive, turbo parts and random other e36 parts, figured there would be other people who have had this day dream cross there mind. I'm sitting in class bored as hell, and this came across MY mind.... I'm going to start making the imaginary build list later....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=327C2qvIvz8 something along the lines of this build, i don't know if this has ever been posted on this forum before, but if no body knows the story behind this car it is extremely sad, shortly after completing the car, it was completely torched in an accidental garage fire.http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1570818 go to post 26 not page 26, so sad

Well you mightest well go turbo and super charger to even out the lag.

If money was no object, ship your car to TRM, they've built many e36 turbo setups: http://www.racersmarket.net/
If you wanted to spend even more money and be a little unique: Swap an s54 into it, and then convince the guys at HPF to fit a turbo to it, their e46 m3 turbo kits start at $13.5k + install. http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/ |
i need a turbo e36 so bad

ICS, CES, or TRM are all great for turbo S52's. Personally, if I were to turbo my car I'd get in tourch with ICS. George seems to know S52's very well and how to make insane power out of them. S54 turbo go speak with Mr.Radowski :) He's working on a stock DME tuned turbo setup that should take a dump on anything else out there. The recent drama with HPF and proEFI is pretty scary!

O ringed block
10:1 compression 15lb of boost 9000RPM valve springs A proper sized ball bearing turbo Forged internals Whatever intercooler fits Drysump oil system Cryogenically treated engine componenets And fuel injected headers (ie put inejectors before the turbine, for some sweet antilag) Added with some gangster shrouding for the cooling system And you have the best turbosystem for anything ... It won't last long but if I could afford to rebuild my turbos often, and my engine every 5-7 track events, that's how ied do it |
HPF blamed the tuner while the tuner blamed the engine builder. It looks like there was excessive piston to wall clearance and the rings were gapped too tight. They are also suggesting that the s54 doesn't work well with sleeves which cracked and warped. In my opinion it's both shops fault. The engine was designed to run on aem but the owner decided remove aem and use proefi to tune on e85. He should've just let HPF fix the car which I'm sure Chris would have. By removing aem be pretty much voided warranty...
