M20 2.7 stroker
A friend is selling his 2.7 m20 stroker which includes the following
Schrick high duration cams Head stud kit Shorty Headers Mass Air Conversion Light weight flywheel and M3 clutch and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember that makes you go fast.... He has had it dynoed at about 235hp. email any questions and I'll relay them to him. It may take time to get a proper answer for you but I will get them. he's asking 3000$ firm |
price is now flacid instead of firm. sugestions on price?
|
He had it dynoed at 235hp? If that's at the wheels it must be boosted. If it's at the crank ( approx 190-200whp) it's still to high for a 2.7L stroker without some serious port work, custom high compression pistons (at least 11:1), extrude honed intake manifold (or fully custom), a big cam, and a really good tune.
More details on the stuff that makes you go fast would be good... perhaps the dyno chart If these figures you claim are true this is an amazing deal. |
Ya he's an engine guy. I remember him talking about port and polish and pistons... But as I am an amature it was over my head... I'll get precise info shortly.

Like I said this is a great deal. I'm currently building a stroker so I'm aware of what it costs to build a motor like this. For all the parts listed above it's an easy $2k (Just the cam, springs and retainers alone will cost about $1k). And for all the parts not listed to rebuild the motor (seals, gaskets, bearings, etc) you're spending another $800-$1000. Take into consideration that there's easily another $600 in machine shop work + the time to assemble the motor and you can see that if you were to pay someone to build a motor like this it would cost you in the range of $4000-$5000. If I hadn't already spent a bunch of money on my stroker project I'd be all over this. |
no longer for sale..... its going in the e21!
|
That'll be wicked.
Build thread coming? |
yes... soon I hope. I need to sell the e30 first... that is a little behind schedule with the motor swap. Hoping to build a group 5 replica and boost the stroker

you care enough to continue to post here... so at least provide an explenation, or lets talk about whats really bothering you hmm? I dont see why the addition of an S to the end of a word upsets you so much. I think maybe you should relax and let me post instead of trying to measure your dick... I don't care for internet heros that have to dump on other users... just move along and enjoy your visit on Maxbimmer :)
