Up for sale here is my 1997 BMW E36 328is, located in Pickering, Ontario. The car has had plenty of work done within the last year or so such as new brakes, new final stage unit, wiper motor and a few more small things. New battery was purchased and installed in the middle of December 2011. Clutch has absolutely no slips and the transmission, synchronizer work as they should and the engine sounds great, works fine. Has the exhaust valve opened with the "Golf tee mod" and is significantly louder than stock. Almost like a cat back exhaust, especially at higher RPM. Can email you videos to hear the engine that were done not all that long ago. This is very easy to reverse if you wish by just putting the pressure line back on. As you can see it also has an AC Schnitzer grill emblem that I installed a few months back as well. The pictures in the listing were taken a few months ago but the car is THE EXACT SAME. I took such good care of the leather, waxing the paint at every wash weekly in the summer etc. Body is in very good shape but has a few minor rust spots that were fixed before that seem to be gradually coming back. I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle.

A few days ago the starter began to act up and likely needs a solenoid but would be better off changing it. You can find this part from sellers in Mississauga for $150 brand new or $100 for a rebuilt. Labor is about $200 at that shop or similar ones and you will be set. The car still starts up so I could drop it off where you wish after we have made a deal. My reason for parting with this car is financial. Would love to keep it but things are not very well for me right now with cash flow and this is the only option. Breaks my heart to do this but life must go on.

You are encouraged to show up with a mechanic to look over the car and see everything in person for yourself. Right now it is in my garage obviously away from the harsh weather. This is an excellent opportunity to get a track car started or as a hobby you work on over time to fully restore it.

Too much more to put here so please feel free to contact me via PM with any questions and to make offers. Asking $2,300.00 OR best sensible offer.

Hey guys,

Thanks for expressing the interest in the car. Thankfully (for me) my family will be helping me out with this repair and will be paid back ASAP. After having little luck with a very fast sale to regret this less, all the thinking got me crunching numbers and comparing more. To be honest, living in the suburbs (Pickering) and commuting downtown for work in the on season would cost me $225.60 - $282 for Durham Transit and the GO train just for the few work days. Best of luck to you all that are on the hunt for a nice E36 and hope to see you at some meets in the summer.

Yeah, so sorry. After giving my other options careful consideration and playing with the numbers it became clear that would be no solution for any person in the suburbs. I put so much time and effort into this vehicle since September 2010 and feel there are not many cars out there that will not need a bunch of work done so sticking with it in hopes that in the summer all will be better is the way. Hopefully your friend can find a good E36 like this soon by or before the summer. They seem less and less common but still very much possible.

My main reason for wanting to sell it was financial. After some suggestions from friends and family support it will be in my best interest to hang onto this vehicle. Living in the suburbs makes it too hard for me to get around and the thought of not having it at all ended up being worse. To commute downtown in the summer for my job 12 - 15 days a month will cost me $225.60 - $282 per month just to get there and be stranded all other times. With this taken into consideration it is worthwhile for me to face it now and have things work out better for me in a few months time. Hopefully you find a good one like this for sale soon again.
