Feeler - 2002 325i

10 Attachment(s)
CAR: 2002 BMW 325i
KMís: 133,000
PRICE: $9,500 OBO
REASON FOR SELLING: The only reason Iím selling the car is because I need cash for a down payment on a condo. I would have loved to keep this car for another 5-6 years.
CONDITION: Excellent
EXTERIOR COLOR: Light Blue
INTERIOR COLOR: Tan (not leather), excellent condition.
SEATS: Sport seats
TRANS: Manual 5 speed
BRAKES: Just changed the front breaks/rotors, and the rears have about 3K left. BMW charges $350 + taxes for a rear break job.
MAINTENANCE: I changed the front right stabilizer link last year. The last oil change was done at 124K last year so no need for a while.
Owner: I am the second owner. I bought the car 2 years ago from an older gentleman who had purchased the car from the dealer brand new. He had all the service records to that point and I also have all the service records mostly from the dealership.
INCLUDES: A set of winter rims with tires in very good condition. Also includes a Ski roof rack.

NOTES: This is a very, very well maintained car, with an absolutely crystal clean record (NO ACCIDENTS). Lately Iíve barely drove it since I now take the subway to the office. Who ever takes this off my hands is one lucky person as you are buying an absolutely clean car. Car will be safety certified and e-tested upon interest.

That depends. I'm not sure what the going rate on a 02 325i with 135K is, but if Iím offering $500 to $1000 above book value then there is a reason for that. If the buyer is smart they would realize this is a well maintained low KM, quality vehicle.

I remember some of the garbage I test drove when I was buying in 2009. Young guys showing up with rust buckets that had $160K, in absolute atrocious shape asking book value....I instantly turned way. When I met the gentleman who sold me this car I made him an offer on the spot and basically gave him his asking price because I knew instantly this was a mint, quality bimmer, with all service records up to date, on time and done right. It turned out to be a good move as Iíve had 0 issues since the purchase.

OhÖbump :D

" The last oil change was done at 124K last year so no need for a while. "

"KM’s: 133,000"

133-124=9
Umm, not needed for a while? As far as I am concerned it is WELL overdue....

Clean car, nonetheless, but I would like to know what intervals the oil changes were done at?

blakneto 03-25-2012 10:28 PM

price is fair... I got a 2003 325i with 135k on it for 10k about 2 years ago...
Well maintained and with only the usual suspects needing fixing...

Just do your homework before you purchase!

Blackedout95 03-25-2012 10:29 PM

Clean car, well priced, it will move, be patient.

Oil services on these every 12k or so is good so he is perfectly within the zone. He is NOT over due at 9k, not close yet. If you want to be extremely picky you could do it earlier but here nor there.

The real horror story is seeing and changing oil in bimmers who followed the bmw recommended 25k. Engine flushes needed and build up seen on those cars is a nightmare and leaves ya shaking your head.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I just checked the service records and here are the last few:

-Oil service at 114,682 April 20, 2010
-Oil service at 124,159 Jan 15, 2011

So yes, it will need service in the next 2000 to 3000 KM.

BTW, the service records indicate the official color is Steel Blue.

Perfectly fine and likely 99% better than most others on the road. If I could only see our customers come back every 10k it'd be a miracle.
