Where do people get track tires from in Canada ?

Gleb 01-07-2012 02:09 PM

From the tire stores.

Some race shops sell their used tires. I remember there was a shop that raced a vette and the front tires were 245/17 perfect for a square e36 setup. They used to let them go for like $50/tire.

I've been getting my rubber lately from tirerack.com as Richie has said, even with shipping, duties, taxes, and installation here at a shop it comes out to be somewhere near $200 cheaper a set than buying in Canada......

.....Disgusting abuse from Canadian Distributors, gouging like that.

doogee 01-08-2012 01:25 AM

You might want to be a little more specific. Asking where to get "Racing tires" kind of sounds like you shouldn't even be using them :P

R888's are easy to get and a decent tire to start on.

Yes, Nitto's can only be bought here from one distributor and the price is ridiculous. Unfortunately tirerack doesn't carry them.

I looked at tirerack, and you are right delivered they are cheaper.

discounttiredirect for nittos. bought a set from there once, was an okay deal.

mgunter 01-08-2012 03:59 PM

If you know anyone that works at a dealer/shop they should be able to get a deal for you from Kal Tire on Nitto's.

I got my Neogen's (205/50/15) for $374 taxes in. I realize they're not what you're looking for but you get the idea!

What did you think of the nittos ?

Sucked. Didn't last NEARLY as long as either of my two sets of RA1s I've had. Dunno what went wrong either, lots of people online say they had great success with them... I've only seen one other person that had a similar experience like me. I chalked it up to just having got a sketchy set, because one of them even started to split on the tread like when you run certain Race Slicks backwards.
