E46 2001 330ci - Trunk Release not Working
 

Hi, for some reason the push button to release the trunk is no longer working. I looked at the fuse box, but found no dedicated fuse for this feature. Any ideas, places to look solve the problem?

does the key trunk open button still open the trunk? how about the button in the cabin by the hood release?

The key in the trunk works and the key itself both open the trunk. Just not the push button in the cabin by the drivers door. Suggestions?

So, I found the answer - the lock in the trunk was in the horizontal position, and it should be vertical to engage the cabin button. Horizontal disables the cabin button thus preventing you from releasing the trunk. It was in the owners manual - who knew to look there?
