What happened to the secondary air pump? Your car should have the new , updated secondary air pump which was introduced in '03 and replaced the old one.

Your car is an '04 and has the old style air pump, weird.

I asked Steve Gailits from Bavarian Motors and Randy ("MaxBimmer CEO") and they don't know what you're talking about. This car is all stock except the performance wheels. For everyone else I've DROPPED THE PRICE with a new description below.

Thanks,
Marcel

The pic below shows what an airpump looks like after 2003.

The the pic below is what you have .

Either your car was involved in an accident and whoever repaired it put the old style pump on or someone replaced it. Either way , its not supposed to be there.

Another thing, your car has 225hp and not 235, as the ZHP option was never offered on an Xi.

Emission standards stayed the same on IX models. So that is the right pump for the car. Let the man sell his car jeeez. fcplm

Not only Xi's, i had an 2004 320i, 100% original with the same setup (old style)...

I did get some more info and yes it's 225hp but it's never been in an accident and I got it from Autohaus in Thornhill as a certified used. The pump is the first generation of '04 so that's why it looks different than your picture above. In any case, it has 290 ft/lbs of torque which is almost the same as a new M3 and rivals the new M1 at 332 ft/lbs with similar weight. It's great fun to drive and reliable.

330s have 290 torque?

mleone4 11-19-2011 07:08 AM

Sorry, 214 ft/lbs.
