soft brake pedal

My pedal has always been softish. I've bled the crap out of these, flushed the fluid. So I am left with two possibilities. Air in the ABS, or a master cylinder.

Can the master cylinder be replaced without bleeding the ABS ?

Is there an independent shop that can bleed the ABS ?

"Soft" is a very vague description. Mine has always been "soft" as well, but I think that's just how these cars are.

I would love for the brake pedal to be firm. My sister has a sentra and the brake pedal is almost like an on/of switch. My car feels like a marshmallow in comparison.

If ther is a way to make things firm, I'd love to know!

well my 530i which has exactly the same brakes (more or less) is firm in comparison to my M3. Also I want the pedal height to be higher which will be accomplished by firming up the pedal.

I did find out there are independent scan tools which activate the ABS though.
