Cracked windshield: options?

Hi,
Windshield is cracked and I was told appr.$1300 for the repair (dealer). Does anyone have experience with after market ones? Any suggestions?
My deductible is high so don't want to go with insurance...
Thanks a lot,

If you are still looking to get the glass replaced I have a place for you.

$250 plus tax. Complete with rainsensor. I recently had one installed in my 07 335i.

Guy was great and work was done in less than 2 hours. If you are interested let me know and I'll give you the shop details.

That's a really good price. I paid more than that for my E36 back in the day without a rain sensor.

Thanks, I would really like to know. How long ago did you get it repaired?
Thanks,

Hey... I replaced my windshield about a month and a half ago... its been great. Guy did a fantastic job..

Bmw quoted me $1600.00 a few independant shops quoted me 600-800
or the other option was my insurance but my deductible was $500...

But then i discovered this place and kept all my money in my wallet.

I think the company was Sprint Auto Glass. It was on Victoria Park in Scarborough.
But i think they have a few locations.
Call 416-510-1234 Ask for Len Tell him Debi sent you. Comes with receipt and warranty... no shady business.

:) happy to help

Let me know how it works out for you.

Taken the day of the surgery... lol.

Just checked my reciept.. came to $282.50 with Tax.. I paid Debit.

You might be able to save the tax if you pay cash.

Hey, thanks a million! I will look into this for sure.
And, beautiful picture of the surgery :)

BTW looks like you have a sedan on the picture, right? I also have the sedan 07. Love the 335

Many have used Jams Autoglass in the GTA. He replaced mine at my house a few months ago; great job. He can install factory original or aftermarket if you wish.

It's annoying that the glass on these new 3 series are so thin (you will see when they take your old one out) in the name of weight savings. My old E36 glass got hit so many times by crap on the 401 & never cracked once in the 5 yrs I had it.

BellaSignora 10-25-2011 12:54 AM

Yes.. I have the sedan. Love it more than anything i've ever had. The 335i Rocks!!

Lol... small world! So funny that the guy i found to do the repair is your buddy.

He does great work and was very quick.

I recommend him to alot of people.

noodles101 10-25-2011 01:56 AM

ya regular windows with no rain sensor... i think my buddy charges around 200 tax in. or even cheaper...lol
