The DelphWIN!

I think daily E30 searches are going to bankrupt me sooner or later... Or at the very least put me in the dog house.

New keys must mean a new toy!

I'm sure everyone has had that feeling when they first see a car and know that they must have it. It's like you fall in love with it. That's exactly what happened.

The colour should be obvious from the picture above but just in case...

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-n...0/DSC01059.JPG

I love Delphin and it has to be my favourite colour for an E30. But I wouldn't buy a car just because it was Delphin.

Here are some pictures when it arrived home

I know what you're thinking, no love yet.

It is an exceptionally clean one owner car (previous owner was an 80 year old who daily drove it) that has very little rust (all in easily fixable areas). It has a hard top, two sets of rims and tires, and the soft top is great too. Completely unmodified and unmolested.

But those aren't the reasons why I fell in love with it. It was the interior that did it

As soon as I saw that colour combination it was over, and I was on my way to the bank.

One last pic for now

High mileage?!?! Please, just getting started...

Really? A better interior shot is needed! Looks nice though, congrats.

Building a fleet are you? Haha, nice pickup man. I have one of those plate holder trims for the front bumper if you need it.

Thanks! Better pictures coming soon. Had to build up a little suspense!

Well I've run out of room for now so I guess I won't be getting anymore.

The plate holder trim is the first thing on my list. I normally can't stand diving boards but for some reason I don't mind them so much on this car and it'll look a lot better with the trim piece installed.

I'll still be keeping an out for some Euro bumpers of course. I was thinking about plastic bumpers but I think Euro bumpers would suit the car more.

for some reason it flows better? imo anyway...

Damn, why didn't I find that car before you?!! Does this mean I've gotta come over again and lower this one too? haha!

You better get some proper pics of that interior up soon! Either that, or bring it out to Mosport this weekend! We'll pile four dudes into it and parade around Oshawa.

I just hit 430 a couple of weekends ago! Just about broken in. Only 70000 to go! :P

I wanted to give the car a nice wash so I can get a good look and see if anything needs to be addressed with the body.

First things first: removing 'Le Bra'. There was over 20 years worth of dirt underneath. It did clean up nicer then I thought.

I was expecting some faded paint but it looked great. All the moisture trapped underneath did make for an interested looking roundel though...

Found some rust-

Aside from that the only other rust is on the bottom of the front fenders but it isn't even bad and barely noticeable.

Cleaned all the grime from under the license plate

No rips or tears

Poor Schwarzy is probably feeling a little neglected but I've got an update on him as well

I think you're off the hook with this one. This is going to be my Wife's car and since it will be daily driven, I think it will stay at normal ride height.

That could change though because I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stand seeing the car like this before I change my mind...

I know it's painful to look at!

Love the cardinal interior... Stick shift?

Personally I think all e30s need at least a bit of a drop. They look so ponderous at stock height with fender gap you could get your head into...

Also I don't know if it is just me but the front wheels look like they have just a tick of positive camber in these photos?

E30M42cab 06-03-2011 04:50 PM

Somebody photoshop this car lower to get the ball rolling!

Also, I'll trade you the tape deck centre conlsole for that handfull of parts you need (and will be needing) if I can ever find time to dig them out of the parents garage!

Thanks! No it's auto. I could convert it but like I said, it will be my wife daily driving it so I'll leave it for now.

Agreed. It just looks wrong.

Photoshop probably won't be necessary after seeing your car on Sunday. Especially when the rear was so overloaded it was practically dragging! THE CAR NEEDS LOW!!!

I'm going to look into GC coilovers. At least then I can raise and lower the car as needed.

I'm guessing you want it for your 80's project!

E30M42cab 06-07-2011 05:51 PM

4 dudes and a set of rims in the trunk will always tuck rim on a dropped vert. It didn't bottom out though, did it?!

Yea, the tape holder would be awesome in the 80's project... although the coupe has way more euro parts, so it might fit in better in that thing. Do they actually all pop up? I'm gunna have to rock that LeBra as well. Don't throw it out!!

They all pop up except for one!!!

Don't worry 'Le Bra' isn't going in the garbage, but it does need a really good cleaning.
