Hahha, not even close. Especially with 202 000 Km's that may or may not b very hard ones. Plus, it looks purple.

value is in the eye of the beholder! last year for the e34, its and M package, if it's mint could be worth something, less than the asking IMO.

mudmojo 04-25-2011 01:24 AM

That's way overpriced.

Back last fall there was a perfect condition southern state 1991 E34 M5 with only 28K miles on it selling from a dealership for $17K. That may be an extreme example but good buys can be found if one is patient.

This is not one of them if the price doesn't move.

And I would think someone who is selling a niche car would be putting more effort than posting up 1 single far away picture assuming that kijiji allows more than 1 picture that is.

There were only 32 of those cars imported to Canada in 1995. People pay big $ for them, or at least they used to. Many of the 32 got imported into the USA. That car was around $90K in 1995. I know who has owned that car for last 10 years or so, he is the second owner and the car is in great shape. He has some other interesting cars and maybe he just advertised it so he can tell his wife he put it for sale, but nobody bought it. And that is the original colour.

Very nice car, but at an asking price of way more then an M5 (even E39), i cant see this selling anytime soon!

Not to mention the picture is taken @ a track, sure you can bet that its been beaten for many of those 202k ;)

I know the owner, he has other cars and I doubt he has driven the M540 on the track 5 times if even that. So don't bet on anything or you may lose.

It appears this owner knows what he owns.

There's value in this model in the future. Not sure why there’s a comparison in value of a BMW factory built 1 of 32 limited edition E34 M540's versus standard NA E34/E39 M5's. I doubt BMW only built 32 special E34 M5's and there are definitely much more e39 M5's out there.
I don't know of too many BMW models that were built in such low volumes especially for the Canadian Market.
Yes, it does have higher mileage for most to be interested in but it's all in the maintenance that makes a car/motor last.

The Daytona Violet is a great 90's color which makes this model that much more unique. Avus Blue is also another sharp color for that model.
Heck, I still recall seeing an Avus Blue M540 at the BMW dealership in 1996 that was sitting in a sea of mainly black and some silver cars on the lot. It was by far the best looking one on the lot.

Perhaps Mark, but thats why I said YOU can bet :P Because I dont wanna lose money hahaha..

Either way its a beautiful car, and If I had love for older BMW's Id buy it... but unfortunately, e36's are about as old of a look I can handle.

My wife's 93 M5 is Avus Blue. Maybe I'll bring both the M5's to Tedfest this year.

LOL...yes I know. I first saw her car at the 2006 Bimmercruise at Mosport.

I remember her driving the car on the DDT track when we took an ADS class in Aug. 2009!

That was a ton of fun and a great learning experience.

She had the e90 328i at the DDT last year. I got her some coil overs, just have to install and get her back out there. *wave*
