Cap install

Stupid Question, but I bought a cap from Shades and I was of the impression that to install it was direct positive power into the cap and then continue the positive power out the other side. But the top of the cap shows a positive and a negative. Help?? to someone who is not very good at the stereo game.

I personally wouldn't know how to do it myself either, but maybe this link will help. I'm sure there are more detailed guides out there too.

the negative is for ground. if your putting the cap in the trunk, locate a solid grounding area u can use, just make sure you sand the surface well for good contact. *th-up*

First of all try to mount the cap as close to the amp as possible(within 1 foot is ideal) then you just hook the terminals up inline + to+, - to -. just think of the cap as a battery, it stores juice till you hit really low beats and rather than putting that sudden voltage drain on your battery the amp pulls it from the cap. If you have any more Q's let me know, I used to build competition systems for a few years so I should be able to help you out.

This was my fist comp system in my first ride with hydros. Meeeeeeeemories.
