Grand Bend Dragway Expanding to open Road Course for June 2011

I read this over on Toronto Subaru Clubs forums. Very interesting. Plans are posted and construction is already 50% complete. Tentatively they will be opening in June. Although it is a far drive, it would be cool linking a track day with a follow up day to the beach at Grand Bend. Beautiful area.

john consider seeing if there is a group of people willing to pitch in and rent a house for a night or 2 down by the beach. we rent a house 2min from the beach every year for a week its like 1500 i think idk if they rent for a night or 2 but if like 10 ppl pitched it would be a good deal and a great party!its a 5 minute drive to the track not even

I was actually looking into this as well. last year, they actually held temp. road course lapping day using cones.

However, it is quite far away, probably longer drive then watkins glen?

Nice, this is about the same distance for me to go to Mosport and close to the beach!

How long is the straight? "Aircraft Runway"

I'll go. Doesn't matter when or how far.... beaches and racecars... can't go wrong.

no old runway its being all resurfaced and graded.

There are going to be 4 different configurations of the road course as well. No elevation changes though , so it will be a great beginners track!!!

The course itself looks really fun. 2 hours from home, fantastic.

Rudy, you should get a car. Would make covering long distances much less of a pain. Oh wait...

craz azn 01-07-2011 02:30 PM

I just need a 335d motor for my car... but a 318 would be such an easier alternative! :P

If you think m42's get good mileage you're in for a bit of a nasty surprise. Slow *and* thirsty!

(But you can climb in with it and stay warm in a pinch.)
