What rim? If you can find it used, i'd go that route.

its not that bad. Just a small dent. I sent it to carcones and will wait on the results tomorrow. Got a price of $110 with a refinish. ill give it a try.

I need to send one of my LTW's out too, let me know how it turns out. I found a small dent in the inner barrel :( Can they fix it without refinishing because I find that the BMW factory clear-coat on the rim is the best.

Rick at precision rim repair. We've done a lot of business together and could not have been happier.

Carcones couldn't fix the rim so i sent it to rim techniques at finch and weston. I was referred to them and they do some high end car wheels. Its done pretty good but i still feel a bit of vibration at speeds of 130 k/ph.

I have to locate a new or used original rim.

For all intents and purposes, rims cannot be repaired.

I've had bad experiences with:
Precision
Carcone (more than once, i'm an idiot)

no experience with rim techniques

I'm about to get my 16" Alpina's done. There's another rim repair thread somewhere here -- after reading it I looked into Quy (Brampton) and Union Rim Repair (Yorkdale area). I'm about to pull the trigger with Union. Quy's website is cool - he has a great video showing his process. However he was a bit unenthusiastic about tire removal and 2 colour powder coating, which I need.

^^so you're going to pay someone 1/2 of what your rim is worth to "fix" it, but he can't take a tire off? Comon man, i can take a tire off a rim, and as some people would say, "i'm a ****ing moron!"

Seriously. Instead you'd rather bump a year old thread and wait for a reply? fcplm

Horrible experiences with Precision as I've stated in another popular rim repair thread. Never tried Carcone's though they *seem* to be the most reputable. Rim Techniques did really good work.
