Cleaning 2003 320i head lights

Can anyone recommend how to clean headlights of my car? the seem dirty on the inside but i think it is the outside? any suggestions? they just look dull?

Unless you have a high speed polisher and the headlight cleaner, i suggest you don't waste your time... I did it and even then i wasnt happy with it at all...

Spend a couple bucks and buy new ones, it will improve the look of your car much much more

So did you clean them or buy new ones? if that is how your headlights looked after you cleaned them please tell me what product did you use and how did you go about doing this?
Dont feel like spending 500 right now on new headlights with halos and projectors.

Thanks

The first picture is after trying to clean them you can see they still were very pitted and ugly...

The 2nd picture is after i bought new ones. The last picture is a comparison of how yellow and pitted old ones are vs the new ones.

You don't need to spend 500 on new headlights, just get the lenses. I included a link but it didn't go through.
Its 99$, check on bimmian dot com's website.

Adrian call Steve @ 647 722 3432 ext 21 .. ask him for price picked up. it normally works out much better than paying shipping, he also is sometimes willing to give you a reduced rate than the price on website since its local.

call and find out.

Thanks man...I appreciate it!

so i didnt purchase the new lenses yet. Im just thinking about buying the cleaning kit for crappy tire?? My friend did it to his lenses and his were disgusting, and it ended up looking brand new?! anyone else have an experience with this? is it worth just buying the cleaner?! All you need is a drill.

AlpWhitE46 11-10-2010 05:17 PM

i tried and it came nothing close as to new.

3m headlight restoration kit, its about 20 bucks you will need a good drill and need to FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS... it works.

It's much easier to just replace the plastic lenses. You can get them on ebay for $50-$60 shipped. You won't be able to clean the old lenses, it's just discolored plastic.

As for installation, it's very easy, just undo the clips around the headlight housing and everything snaps back together nicely. Just did mine in 20 minutes, if you need help Youtube a DIY video there are plenty of them floating around.
