looking into buying this car.. cars dirty and its phone pics. car looked alright and drove nice expect for a rough idle.. just wanted to see if it was anyones previous car, on this forum.

car needs quite a bit of work - someone was messing around with the electricals under the dash and one of the hydrollic lifts for the roof is shot. costly to repair ...that is why I steered away from it.

david.toledo 07-08-2010 10:33 PM

yeah i saw that.. what did you think about the rough idle ? for electrical things i got a friend whos good with that stuff

richie_s999 07-08-2010 10:45 PM

Isn't that the car that the seller said was a 92 or 92 M3?

I remember his ad was posted on kijiji and someone linked it on max

david.toledo 07-08-2010 10:55 PM

haha guys lost then.. naw this seller knew what kind of car it was lol..

Ceeker 07-08-2010 11:04 PM

let me know how much you end up spending on it. *wink*

david.toledo 07-08-2010 11:13 PM

roof motor? it's not the roof motor; its the hydrolic cylinder and u can't find good used ones because they don't exist. then you have to replace and syn the hydrolics to make both work at the same time.

new trunk lid. holes in trunk from aftermarket spoiler that was taken
new under dash panel
a/c not working -heater fan stuck on 4 doesn't work on any other speed.
hood has a few dents
new hood release cable and handle
seat back is loose either because it is broken or replaced with another.
at some point repair or replace canvas roof-holes in it.
trunk paneling is missing and holes were drilled in the trunk floor.
power antenna pooched
rims are ruff - need refinishing or replacing
needs new rear shocks -billies
runs ruff at low idle
needs a good detailing
the a pillars were messed with most likely leak or electrical stuff
some wiring around spoiler area cut off and taped.

the good - paint seems decent although car dirty
brakes fairly new
exhaust SS looks solid
clutch and shifter is tight
lowered suspension
interior is decent aside from the drivers seat back loose
hood and trunk shocks work
door locks and windows work

this is just what I found in about 15 min of looking the car over.

would I pay 2600 for it? nope..2000 for it nope..but that is just me. good base for a project car.

oh and it comes from Quebec - hope not Montreal LOL
and odometer says 160k...ah no way..nobody does a repaint on a car with low ks unless mileage not true or rust/damage.

david.toledo 07-09-2010 01:21 AM

yeah i noticed a lot off that.. willing to take a chance at trying to fix most of it...
for sure a nice base for a project. and come on its a cabrio lol and i dunno most importantly it drove pretty nice.. and for 2000 -2600 cant expect a near perfect e30

If this car is from Quebec take a very very good look for body work hiding things, like under the side skirts..... Could explain the repaint, Quebec cars are prone to rot!!!
