Can't wait to see progress. Good luck!

First up...find a new front bumper. I'd love an M5 or 540 bumper with the brake ducts. Damn near impossible to find though. Any idea if those duraflex replicas are any good?

Two saturdays and one wicked sunburn later, I've got almost everything stripped from my old car.

Any progress? I like to see the builds of these older cars. Gives me ideas for my e34.

Sort of. Picked up a set of K.A.W. lowering springs on ebay. Haven't arrived yet. They're made in Germany, and lower the car 60 mm in front and 20 mm in the back. That's a bit lower than the usual H&R or Eibach. Supposed to be a bit stiffer too.

Other than that, I've got almost everything from my old car in my garage. Never enough time for these sorts of things.

They're here!!

My KAW's came today. Very excited. Just need a set of Billie Sports or Konis. My old car had the Sachs sporting kit. Not as firm as I'd like. Will be putting it up for sale in due course.

Can't wait to see what they look like installed. I have the Sachs kit in mine and was disappointed with the drop in front. Still has way too much gap...

marks525 08-18-2010 11:47 PM

Exactly. The Sachs kit was a little soft for me, and still had a gap in the front.

I'm having my wreck towed to my new place this weekend! Can't wait. Going to put the two cars in my garage side-by-side and start transferring everything over. Weekend by weekend. I'm going to need some heat in the garage!

Yay, progress! So you'll be good to go for the huge autox at bimmer cruise right?:D

I wish...hence the reference to space heaters in the garage. It's going to take a while, and I'm toying with the idea of doing the engine swap and 5-speed conversion myself. I can definitely rip it out of the old car and bolt it into the new one. Geting it up and running could take some more time. And then there are the engine hoist and stand that I need to get. Luckily the new car already has an OBD1 M50 in it. Not sure what they did to my old wiring harness to convert from M20 to S52. Probably can ignore that now anyway.

I used the sachs kit on my E34 535 but went with 540 spring pads which were much thinner. Gap was good. Just a throught.
