im working on making a car just for the track. im on a tight budget tho. its a 97 318 m52 with m50 manifold obd1.just for the track

You'll need blue or higher compound. Anything else will fade at the track. The track pads will never be warm enough on the street (read: squeel very lound when cold).
Also take a look at performance friction (either 01's or 06's). T. |
don't forget to upgrade and/or change your fluid.

If Hawk, look into the DTC60/70.
Performance Friction PF06's are great for as an endurance pad. PF01's have a greater initial bite, but I believe they don't last as long. The PF06's grabbed really well when I sat in an E46 M3 on R-Comps at Mosport GP couple weekends ago. But the PF's cost more. |
thanks alot everyone.

i read a little on the dtc60's and 70's and its a race pad. do you think i could use a stock rotor with them?
|
DT-70 and DTC-60 are a bit extreme unless your building a race car they probably are too much. Look into something like a Ferodo DS2500, DTC-30 or even HT-10. Stock rotors can be used with basically any pads, they just don't last as long.
