Bird Crappedon stored 84 318i, Need Advice Please!!!
I have a 1984 BMW 318i that had fresh paint just 2 years ago. I put it away for winter storage and a bird got in and crapped all over the car. It hit hood, roof, trunk and right front fender. On roof it ate right through to the primer. on the other spots looks like it ate through clear and wrinkled paint/clear. In all locations there are multiple spots.
If i take it to a shop, how will they most likely deal with the problem or how should i be looking for them to deal with it? I am hoping car will need total repaint, just not sure if they can touch this stuff up and buff it or not? Please give me some info. I will post pics as soon as i can. Cheers Guys |
How can you buff something thats not there! If the paint is gone, right to primer, its not like buffing off a small scratch! Repaint is the only solution here.

I guess a car cover would have been cheap insurance...

hindsight lol
ya, i thought the garage would have been enough, carcover is a definate must. So, where the crap didnt go to primer, looks like it went to base or thinned clear to a large extent it may also need to be resprayed? i will try to get pics up asap.

like i said
it was in a portable garage, no way a bird should have gotten in there. i just assumed birds couldnt burrow lol. but advice taken, car cover is on shopping list. any suggestions as to what to look for in a car cover for good protection.

usually repaints and bird shit don't mix if the shit has been on the for a couple of days it burns right through to the primer u can try to compound it that's the only thing
