Chevy 327/t56 swap
hey guys so basically i have a fully built chevy 327 small block and a t56 trans centerforce clutch and the whole nine yards from my 86 monte carlo ss build. the motor has no km on it and has been sitting on a engine stand so me and my dad were thinking we should throw it in a e30! so im now looking for advice for putting this setup in a e30.

i know it is heavier then a ls1 swap, im not looking for a track monster... i have all the driveline this is why im using it. to make a head turner street warrior.

im hoping some of you guys can lead me in the right direction thanks! lets here your imput

Put a carbon fiber hood to reduce the weight on the front wheels!!

PM garretvs on BF.C, he and his dad put an LS1/t56 into their E30 and detailed every step, including drawings you can take to your machinist for engine mounts, hydroboost bracket etc. If your 327 has different geometry than the LS1 then you're kind of on your own. You should do what they did - buy a foam mockup block of your engine and start measuring.

The 327 is a SB1 engine? Or did you get an LT1? Most 350 engines have 327 stamped on the side of them because they share the same dimensions but a longer stroke crank was used to get the 350 ci.

There are two T56 Transmissions. The LT1 used a pull style shift fork with hydraulic pushrod slave cylinder, whereas the LS1 T56 (1998 - 2002) used an entirely hydraulic throwout bearing.

You will need to know what transmission fits that clutch.

Take a picture of the engine... does the intake look like this:

hey guys.. thanks for the responses. its a 1967 chevy 327. not a 350. the picture above is a LT1. which is a 350. chevy made 283,302,327,350 and 400 smallblocks. the block itself should be the same motor mount wise as the above picture LT1. as for the t56 it uses the pushrod system for the clutch and slave cylinder. thanks guys again for the responses

thing is its not a LS style block. its just a regular small block chevy
