What year? 90-91 is obd0 and 92-93 is obd1, both of them have the same internals as a civic distributor of the same years, so if your friend has a casing some swapping can be done...

The car had the engine swapped and so I am not sure on whether it is OBD or OBD1 all that I Know is that it has two connectors for the distributor
