I once was going for sound...
6 10'' competition sound streams... powered by to alpine v12 amps... boy was that loud!! it bent my two rear doors outward! since then i downgraded and am now geared toward performance... but i'm a sound junkie Kenwood Mask (tape) 6 disc changer pioneer 250 watt components in the front phoenix gold speakers in the rear deck 2 12'' PPI's Sony, and alpine amps... What i've learned while doing all this is that wiring is what counts... I've been wiring my car and rewiring it for years just to squeeze more power out!! A friend of mine actually got his professionally installed... got 135db... i rewired it for him with proper wires (1guage) and rca's and he hit a 145db!!! |
Here's mine:
- Pioneer CD deck - Infinity Reference 4x6 plates in the stock locations - 2 10" XTANT subwoofers (2-ohm) - Sony 50x4 amp for the plates - USAmp 175x2 @2-ohms (seriously underrated) amp for subs - Pheonix Gold wiring Thats it for now. I'm planning on getting a new head this summer, hopefully an mp3 deck, and I really need to get a capacitor. |
heh... well right now I'm workin on a "light" but hard hitting system... just wanted to get some ideas from you guys
currently I have a... Panasonic h/u Pioneer 2 way coaxils all the way around 5 1/4's Fosgate speaker wires to all speakers soon to be powered by PG 500.4 ti amp 10" bazooka tube powered by internal amp (30watts baby!) moster cable jr links to bazooka soon to be a 12" JL W7 powered by PG 800.1 ti amp both amps to be mounted in custom flush mounted enclosure in spare tire well And perhaps an in-dash monitor from alpine or panasonic.. you guys think this would be too much to still be "performance minded?" is a 4 channel speaker amp really necessary? I'd like to save some weight.. |
I have it, but need to install everything
h/u: PANASONIC CY-VMD9000U In Dash DVD Player AV Control Unit: PANASONIC CA-TU7000 front/rear speakers: Boston Acoustics ProSeries 5.5 Subs: Boston Acoustics ProSeries 10.5LF Cap: 2 Rockford Fosgate Digital 1Farad have to buy: amp: Rockford Fosgate POWER 800.4 amp: Rockford Fosgate 1000.2 2 displays in headrest wires Optima Yellow Top Battery fuze boxes |
Your setup is still good to be performance oriented as the w7 enclosure is pretty light, considering... No you dont need a 4 channel amp but it is nice to have for your components (not much of a weight difference between channels, they usually vary by wattage)
