its got air in it every morning?

sproule905 12-15-2009 09:59 AM

keep bleeding it and adding coolant.. then once that's complete move onto the next trouble spot..

dil 12-15-2009 06:53 PM

Sorry boys too late to trouble shoot :( blew the expansion tank hoses which ruptured the plastic plug it goes in

dil 12-15-2009 06:57 PM

any reason why it would get blown off (expansion tank Hose) from the top of the expansion tank the small hose

Ceeker 12-15-2009 06:59 PM

yeah! you have too much air in the system and the pressure built up to the point that it blew.

My expansion tank also blew in the summer, to be specific, it was the little screw on the top of the expansion tank, after I replaced it, I believe the part was 30$, I never had cooling issues again. This was on my 2000 5spd 323I. You could have a more servere problem, then just air pockets, I'm guessing it's either the water-pump malfunctioning (electrical problem) or you have a clogged heater core.

The only other thing I can think of is electrolysis. Here is an example of what it can do, hence it not cooling properly unless you make the belts work very fast (adding gas).
