m50 manifold best bang for your buck mod

dil 10-26-2009 01:20 PM

price range for m50 manifold ?

Steve30 10-26-2009 01:22 PM

the manifold itself is roughly $100-$150 if you want a clean install you can buy a kit for about $220, so in total the mod is about $350 for a gain of 15-30rwhp

dil 10-26-2009 01:56 PM

do u know anybody selling an manifold for around the 100 150 range

I don't think you'll have a largely noticable difference with anything other than the lsd
manifold you might feel in higher rpms but you shouldn't be driving your car in such high rpms anyway unless your tracking it?
LSD will reduce gas milage but largely increase acceleration thus giving you the feeling of a much faster snappyer car....make sure to pay attention to the gearing ratio, i'm not sure off hand which would be the best in your case

best diff hands down 3.38, very pricey but deffenatly worth it. I tried about 3 diff diffs and ended up sticking to the 3.38.

arent all mods bolt on anyway?

dil 10-26-2009 06:24 PM

wat diff would be good for drifting or quick acceleration

spoony_prelude 10-26-2009 06:27 PM

3.38---> poor mans supercharger!

which other lsd have you tryed and how where they compared to 3.38?

mhamouda 10-30-2009 12:28 AM

i got the stock diff on my m50 e36 93.. will it better to keep it stock for the winter or change it with the 3.38?

also, i thought lsds take more gas than the stock ones?

No such thing! An LSD is identical to a normal diff with the same ratio, you only get more traction....
