Is there a PC cable for E30 OBD1 ?
I was wondring if it's common, or if anyone has the tool or the program and the cable to scan obd1 or if it's even needed. If yes, where could i get one. Thanks. *shiner*

Sam is right. Nothing will be revealed by a pc cable that you can't get with the car's on board diagnostics. Zero reason to buy a cable. Any cable I've ever seen is the Scanner 6.5 which does very little, if anything, on an e30.
Google E30 stomp test, trust me. Between that and a paper clip for the interval resets, you don't need anything at all. |
This is good new about the pc cable. My car did not come with a Check engine light. Guess how happy I was when I found that out. :)

i don't have the engine light on or anything, but i just wanted to see why it's backfiring like crazy, advanced timing i guess *rockout*

the stop test is when you stomp on the gas pedel ( 5 times maybe) and your check engine light will flash out any error codes that your car might have.

If your CEL isn't lit, then neither a cable nor a stomp test will tell you anything. Why is your timing so advanced? I doubt that's your problem.

I don't know, i think it's running rich, gotta swap for some better injectors, i think my stock injectors are pissing already instead of spraying.
I tried the stomp test, no engine light, but something is bagning at the back, in the diff or the axle, i don't know, like metal against metal noise. Scares me abit. |
If your injectors weren't working well, you wouldn't be running rich. :p
Clunking in the rear is likely the rear subframe bushings, but you need to jack it up and give it a good look. Could also be trailing arm bushings, diff mount, center bearing support, rear shock mounts. When does it make the noise? You should probably make a new thread for this since it has nothing to do with a PC cable. :) |
i saw on ebay that there was a obd1 to obd2 conversion im not sure how well it works tho

you aint getting a strong enough spark.
Its strong enough to make the ECU think it does but not strong enough to ignite. Change plugs and check leads and coil! Thats your reason |
all that has been done, and no difference. I guess i gotta do rings :D
