CD-RW and BMW CD Changers
Has anyone been able to play a cd-rw on their e36 cd changer? I burnt a couple cd's on cd-rw's and when I select the disc it reads "NO DISC". CD-R's seem to work fine, so I'm kinda stumped on why the RW's don't work.

Yeah bro, they can read them no problem. You just have to make sure that they are in CD format and not in MP3.
|
they are in .cda format.

I haven't used CD-RWs in my changer so I can't comment, but in previous players I found that cleaning the lenses can help.
CD-Rs are so cheap now, just re-burn them. =) cheaper then buying a cleaning kit! |
I have the same problem in my e46 cd player.
|
type of media also plays a factor.

Nothing to do with media .. burned the same track/project on both CDR and CDRW .. I believe its the reader itself.
|
I'll see if cleaning the lens helps.
