How much psi
whats up guys. i was planning on throwing a blower on my stock s52 and i was wondering how much psi can i run stock without blowing it ?
|
I am going to guess 7psi with the right fuel tuning. (its all in the tuning)
|
ive heard anything over 6psi, and your asking for trouble. yes tuning makes a huge difference but even then your reducing te engines reliability by quite a bit.
And before some guys on here with charged s52's come blasting about how theyve had their blown for years. Yes it also depends on how you drive it, if your a conservative driver that likes to play around once in a while, your ok. But if you are constantly beating on it, youll do some damage. Id recommend at least getting a commetic head gasket and arp head studs! just my 2cents Jay |
I'm running 11.5 psi.

hey thanks for the info

~375whp on a vortech V1. Lots of guys do it btw...see bimmerforums! Obviously good tuning and aftercooling is key.

BlownM3 on here has been blown for a while, runs higher PSI than the setup was designed, has it tuned for each change he makes and drives the living piss out of it. In fact, he twisted a driveshaft last weekend..
