What oil do you use?
 

Its almost time for me to change my oil and I'm wondering what you guys think about royal purple 5w30. I picked up 12 quarts from part source, it was on sale for 10.99/L so I couldn't resist. I read that mobil1 30 weight oils are too thin for M3's. I'm currently using BMW's 5W30 synthetic oil. Is anyone currently using RP 5w30?

Summer 20w50
Winter 5w50 synthetic.

That's for an E30.. I see now that you have a newer car, so... not sure, I'm sure thinner oils are ok for it though. If $ isn't a factor I favor synthetic, if only for it's extreme upper and lower temperature characteristics.

Amsoil 5w-40

Do a search on here about what oil people use every time people ask the thread goes wrong just check your manual to make sure its the right grade for your car

30 wt is 30 wt, shouldn't be any thinner.

I use Amsoil 0W-30 and love it. Best oil I've ever tried.
