Anyone got a van for rent?
 

I need a panel van for July 21 for three hours at most,have to pick up some kitchen cabinets in Oakville and bring it to 400/401 area.Any recommendations for some cheap rental outlets around 400/401 area?

Don't ever ever ever rent ANYTHING from U-Haul!! Not if you value you're life! You know there's pretty much an annual televised expose on how unsafe their entire fleet is? But we can't do much about it, they get around our laws because they're registered in Arizona.

Don't EVER rent from U-Haul. I've heard one too many horror stories...

try budget than... my point being is there are lots of rental companies.

i just go to home depot. fake like I am buying some drywall rent it for like 15-20 bucks and I AM GONE!!

Thanks I reserved a U Haul...about $75 for 24 hours.HD charges about $55 but your on a time limit.

Uhaul is hit and miss. Once my college buddy rented one from Uhaul storage at Warden and Ellesmere. It was like $25 for the van, $25 insurance and $50 for mileage. Over all okay experience. New van was given with some Ariona plates. The fee for mileage was like a buck / kilometer. It was a rip off if we had to drive for long. That was not the case. Not bad. However when I came back there, there were some very old trucks and what not. As I said, it can be hit and mis.

uhaul sux ass but for short runs it works out alot cheaper then renting from discount/enterprise/budget etc. their base rate is much cheaper. they nail you on the kms.... and their fleet is complete shit... i almost had a truck break down on me once..... the level of service i recd from uhaul was complete shit too.

actually the vans are almost new...it all depends on location of the U haul...I figure it out it be about $75 for 24 hour move...The vans arent chit boxes for sure..why all the Arizona plates though?.

no never got caught at the home depot. they actually never check. they give you about 1.5 hrs and just ask to fill whatever gas you used and bring a receipt. Pretty simple to pull off. besides they want your business anyways!! lol

U-Haul is based in Arizona. Most of their vehilces are registered and plated in Arizona, it gives them a lot more wiggle room when it comes to adhereing to our road safety laws. It allows them to operate a decaying fleet of garbage vehicles without facing any penalties and fines that Ontario-plated trucks and vans would be subject to.

Receipt for what? That idea sounds okay because they do not post mileage charges per km.
