porter cable 7424, is this noise normal?

I just bought a porter cable 7424 polisher (brand new) and it seems to make a pretty loud bearing noise. From those with experience with this tool, is this normal? The noise is louder in person than in the video

Thanks for your help

yes it's normal because you are "dry running" it. (also causing more stress on the machine btw)

you need to put the backing plate and pad on, and have it against the surface of the vehicle before running it!

I put the backing plate and pad on and ran it against my hand with a bit of pressure, made the same noise...

EDIT: I checked today with mine on speed 1 and it makes the same noise. i think its just because of the counterweight moving at a slow speed, nothing to worry about.
