Rim problem?????????
okay so i installed my new rims and tires. I put on 18x8 rims all around with a 41 offset. Tires are falken 912's. The bore size was 74.1 but hubcentric rings were put on to to bring it to 72.6. The problem is that i get a ridiculous vibration between 90kn-125km. the wheels were balanced and they fine.
what could this be? thanks derek |
metal hubcentric rings or plastic?
these are metal hubcentric rings
have you checked to make sure all the bolts are tight enough? sounds stupid but i had this exact same problem when i first got my old e36 from the dealer turned out that the idiots just had not tighted the bolts enough
And you're 100% sure they are 72.6?
well im not 100 percent sure but when the rings were put on the hub, they fit perfectly into the grove. and yes all the bolts are tight and torqued
can this be some thing like an alignment? |
I'd double check you got the right size rings first, should be stamped on them
would another ring fit thats not fit for my car? may be a dumb question.........
Jack the car up, spin the wheel. I had the same problem after I had new used tires put on, 1 of my rims was bent.
but the tires and rims are both new, not used but all new in boxes.
tires might be defective - especially falkens
^^^ I was going to say tires. or balanced improperly.
Jay |
but as i was watching the balance machine spin, they were perfectly round
there is something wrong the the hub rings. when u put the rims on did u check to see if there is any up and down movement
if u seen them on the balencer and there no bent rims or out round tires than it's the mounting part |
i see, its funny that i did not have this prioblem with the winter rims. they were 17" and caused no shake
