Borbet A pics and question
Ok, im about to buy a new set of "Borbet type A" wheels.

now i know there are 7.5x16 and 9.0x16. I want the deeper dish ones, the 9.0x16.

The thing i dont understand is why these pictures vary so much

I want these:

I do NOT want these:

Whats the deal with that huge difference in Dish?

Any info much appreciated...

The ones you do not want are 17x7.5 and 15x7.

Stick to 16x9 like you mentioned and you'll get what you want.

Sweet. Thanks. only $1200 free shipping, not a bad deal IMO

325isStephen 09-21-2008 11:09 AM

where are you getting them from if don't mind me asking?

jeremy 09-21-2008 11:33 AM

Did you even read the specs on the pics you put up of the ones you don't want??

Luke318is 09-21-2008 04:53 PM

Yes, of course i did, i just thought it was a fairly dramatic change in look, wasnt sure if maybe i was looking at different models or what.

get the 9x16 with a 15 mm offset and up front 10mm spacer's and you are where you wanne be with 215/40/16 tire's i drove the borbet T design for some time but i was getting sick off the design and changed to something else over

Bye Andre

Found a *MINT* set of used ones with new tires. They are being shipped next week, where should i buy the spacers? from borbet?

andicanada 10-01-2008 11:09 PM

you will need a 5mm spacer each side up front when you bought the 9x16 ET15 for the front as well thats all you can get this from H&R or any performance part dealer i know a shop in surrey on king gorge HYW has them always in stock bought mine there lol

oldskool3 10-01-2008 11:31 PM

you should have rolled a staggered setup. 7.5 up front and 9's in the rear.

andicanada 10-01-2008 11:47 PM

no way that looks like ass! 9x16 bro and things are rolling in style ;)

everything smaller then 9 is not a rim

calegrant 10-01-2008 11:52 PM

Sick luke, can't wait to see em so make sure you hit up bimmerparts on a sat when you get em! If you can deal with the vibrations for a week or so I'm gonna be searching for the best deal on hubcentrics I can find, I could possibly manage a better price for both of us if we order 4 pairs. Regular spacers are fine for a while, but you'll never get the consistent perfect fit you get with hubcentric spacers.

andicanada 10-02-2008 12:07 AM

hey i hope you guys are rolling the rear fender? and using some bump stops ?

i sold my Borbet T to a friend he drove arround for 2 month no bump stops now he need's new tires the sidwall was worn faster then the tread on the tire lol

Luke318is 10-02-2008 12:24 AM

Ya my bud has the fender roller, then its finding someone with the balls to use it, cuz im not confident enough heh, i watched my bud **** up his paint because he went to fast :(

The bump stops in the back were ok, but i just put in springs and noticed that the front drivers side bumpstop is ****ered, so i guess ill be getting back in there then...

Im going to email borbet tonight and see what they will charge for spacers, ill let you know cale

EDIT* They want $99 for two hubcentric 10mm spacers for front, and 8 extended bolts.

calegrant 10-02-2008 01:00 AM

Thats not bad, but you're gonna wanna get 10mils for the rear as well to even it out. See if they'll give you a better deal for 4 sets and I'll take 2 pairs :P

Warm paint = flexible paint, heat gun them as you go, not just before you do it. I don't know if it's needed, but I'd throw on some blue painters tape just for the extra protection but it's probably not needed. It's really forgiving so won't remove any. Found you a video, just make sure you do everything he says
