not bad...rather buy the turbo though....its more classy then the nissan. nissan reminds me of the little boy racer car.
example, m3 vs sti and evo.

I'd buy GT-R in a heartbeat! and Another luxury SUV or another car for the price of 997tt!

I dont think you can call it little boy racer car. I think this car rocks!

I agree....GTR in a heartbeat. I would let the possers get the Porche!lol

magnus 01-14-2008 02:18 PM

If you think about it they both have same power but the porche has more torque and is lighter. Also the Porche has ceramic brakes. And from what i see on the video the GTR both is flatter across corners and easier to handle, brakes if not better the same as the Porche and to top it off is quicker and since power to weight ratio is in favour of the Porche that Skyline must handle awesomely to make a better lap time. And still manages to keep the driver more relaxed.

In GTR power is underated! Plus it has way faster downshitfts and upshifts Porsche is auto and thats not as fast as DSG in GTR.

Still though if you consider price and power to weight ratio(even if its only on paper) that was really impressive! Plus remember that there should be a sportier V-spec comming out too!

Nothing poseur-ish about picking a 911 turbo, even with GT-R on the market... If maximum performance was the only criteria while picking a car, we'd all be driving Lotus Elises with triple turbo-charged engines. I'd feel like a doofus driving GT-R around town. I'm not japanese nor did I grow up watching anime.

While I'm not putting down the GT-R's speed by any stretch, I'll take this show with a grain of salt... It's like Top Gear show and their hard-on for anything Jaguar and Aston Martin... National pride takes its toll :)

I wonder why they didn't grab a GT3 for a that test... more track oriented car, and cheaper to boot. Regardless, with GT-R and the Corvette pushing hard, Porker needs some new ideas and quick *sad*

Spec v will be competing with GT2/3 i guess!

Not trying to stick up for the 911 but here are my observations. The 911's tires were garbage as we can see from the ending while the GT-R was using R compounds. The GT-R was set up to win. Badly worn street tire vs R compounds. Just look how sloppy the 911 was, running off line a couple of times and braking way too early for some corners. The ceramic brakes won't help if you got no traction. At the track, tires is the most important factor.

The GT-R is a great car but too much hype........plus I don't care how fast a car is, it's no fun trying to turn a 4000 pounds.
