What kind of engine? M52? M52TU? Might be interested.

dcramer 03-01-2011 06:33 AM

Yes, they are M52TU engines. They came out of Z3's

Too bad you don't have a non-TU aluminum M52...

dcramer 03-01-2011 02:40 PM

To be honest, they are not my engines. I am selling them for a friend. I was guessing that they were TU engines based on a few assumptions. 1 they came out of z3's and the engine code. What was a non-TU aluminum engine used in ?

I think that the only non-TU aluminum blocks in north america were from 1997 Z3's but I could be wrong. If it is a non-TU, I am still interested.

Maybe 1996 to 1998 Z3's...

dcramer 03-02-2011 06:31 AM

Any idea how to tell ? I know the TU's had dual vanos, but short of taking the valve cover off ?

dave.a.cote 03-02-2011 09:40 AM

I could tell by a picture of the head

OK, with the valve cover on or off ? I'll get one this week.

Those are both TU engines - should be valuable for someone with an early e46. glws!
