For anyone who goes out and buys 80 Watt bulbs for your car, dont do it, look what happened.

Along with this, there is a small crack in each of my elipsoid housings.. :( That's the last time I mess around with bulbs.

Yeah, I have Sylvania in my fogs and high beams, excellent bulbs, but I wanted that bluish look for my low beams since I have elipsoids.

Luckily I got the bulbs out before any serious damage occurred, like the harness burning.

I've been through a couple sets of those bluish bulbs and they suck ass. they alst a month and poof.. gone.

I got some from crappy tire that are somewhat blue, and they have lasted for months.

808BMW 05-03-2003 01:41 AM

All those blue bubls suck. The blue coating reduces light output, so they have to run them at 80w to actually be drivable. But trying to run those bulbs at that much wattage builds up too much heat, which causes premature wear, and ALOT of heat inside your lights... in addition to strain on your wiring and stuff.

Plus, they're still not as bright as stock bulbs, even running hotter.

did anyone ever try the PIAA hyperwhites that go for $130 a pair? are they worth the money ???

hey julian, i bought those same bulbs (9006) for brian_m3 'birthday for his fog lights.. they looked amazing and lasted a longgg time...interesting..

Bliss 05-03-2003 05:16 AM

My first Eurolites lasted about 4 years, and now my second set i had for about 3 months already, and still going strong. I personaly don't mind eurolites.

I also don't fiddle around with them like Julian.:P
