How hard to swap 318i engine?

My brother decided that driving his car with a timing chain that sounded like a Panzer tank was a good idea.
Turns out it wasn't!

Now it would appear his timing chain snapped and his motor is likely tanked from what i've searched/read on here.

That being said, I hear that 318i motors can be had for cheap.

What I'm wondering is, how hard is it to do a motor swap? I'm more of a VW guy, but I figure that so long as I'm just dropping the motor in, and connecting some bolts/nuts, I shouldn't be too far off the mark.
So, is this a difficult swap? Anyone able to point me in the direction of a write up on how to do this?

Anyone have a good 318i motor kicking around?

This would be perfect time for you to upgrade to any of the motors 2.5, 2.8 or even a M3. Contact Philip at Eurostyle..*th-up*

Not so much interested in swapping to a bigger/better motor. Just another 318i motor is fine. The car will likely be sold in the next year or so. At this point, I'm looking to do the work myself as well.

Put a 2.5, 2.8 or a 3.2L into it if you have to swap get more power :) it's fairly easy to do a 318-318 swap just lable all the wires you pull off the old one and when you put the new one in it should be smooth sailing.
