S4 gave me good runs, m3 too.

This happened a few days ago..

A perfect yellow E36 M3, dropped, exhaust black rims etc etc is drivin on the highway i pull next to him, and we drive for a while just checkin eachothers cars out, but i notice the speeds are getting faster and faster... so i slow down to 100, he slows down and i hear downshift. Im in 5th, no dropping i fall half a car behind, as soon as the turbo spools at full boost i leave him , when i say leave i mean 10cars.

OKOK, i should have found a E46, but damn those guys never wanna go for some reason, i always pester them!!! Any suggestions!?

I also went up against an S4, my friend took it to the track and ran sub 14 passes all day. Well i honestly cant believe how much power that thing has, the first time i lost by 3cars, i had a problem though, so we pulled over and the second time i pulled a car on him (with a 220pound guy in the passenger side)

Still that M3 was STUNNING to say the least. this happened on the 401 from markham, anyone on this forum from there??

SickFinga 10-26-2003 05:10 AM

weird
M3 and S4 are matched up pretty good.
sub 14? you mean high 13th?
If yes, I do no think it was real M3 on the highway.

Bigbore 10-26-2003 05:23 AM

Could have been a replica or something, but he has everything the M3 has, im sure it was a real one... you know i thought that the M3 was gonna be closer too.. but then i thought...

Audi and me even.. audi has 340hp 2.7L twin turbo

E36 M3 -- 250ish?

thats probably why, i should have mentioned, that S4 went on the track once, driven for the first time on the track by my friends pussy brother who shifts waaay to early. 1320ft in 13s is fast anyway though considering.

Bigbore 10-26-2003 05:26 AM

oh and both were top end pulls, 2.7TT is faster i would think up top then down low...

Trogdor 10-26-2003 07:27 AM

bbore, what does your car run in times?

Bigbore 10-26-2003 03:33 PM

i wish i had tracked it this year :( bascially i got the turbo done and it got very cold, ok good for power(intercooler) but bad for traction... so i never took it out, plus i was supost to go with my buddies car we just didnt end up going.

Cars ive lost to were a built Rcivic with 50shot, he did 13.4 without the shot, and i lost to an all motor H22 civic he runs conesecutive 13.1s all day... buuut i kill that guy on the highway, as in 3cars in 4th gear, 5th i stay away until his long gears catch up to me, but i never like taking my car that fast on the highway anway.

also: that H22 civic is all about 1/4mile setup, and i only lost by a car, then i pull hard in 4th, but thats further then 1320ft of course. Anyway we all know german cars are mostly hwy killers :)

Audi has 250hp on a 2.7TT engine
M3 has 240hp.

So both cars are evenly matched. I would say M3 would be a bit faster on highway due to AWD on Audi.

So if you only pulled one car on audi, i do not think you could pull 10 cars on m3.

Bigbore 10-26-2003 11:45 PM

yeah i was thinking, maybe my friend is full of poo, but i checked the numbers from the audi website..

S4[*]
340 hp with 6-speed manual transmission and quattro® all-wheel drive[*]
340 hp with 6-speed Tiptronic® transmission and quattro all-wheel drive
Engine[*]
DOHC all-aluminum 90-degree 4.2 litre V8 with 5 valves per cylinder, variable valve timing and intake manifold
Displacement: 4.2 litres (4162 cc)
Bore: 84.5 mm
Stroke: 92.7 mm
Compression ratio: 11.0:1
Horsepower: 340 @ 7000 rpm
Torque: 302 lb/ft @ 3500 rpm

that E36 has about 100hp less, probably why, but it`s not comparable really, if i could have found a new M3, perhaps it would be a different story.

DavidM5 10-27-2003 01:58 AM

Are you sure that the S4 was a 2004 with the V8?
I didn't know that they were shipping in Canada yet!

If it was the previous type with the 2.7tt, it's easily modded for 350+hp although reliability is so-so.

You said you friend had 2.7TT, it is previous model.
V8 Audi S4 isnt here yet.

Gamite 10-27-2003 02:29 AM

V8 S4 is here now, came in around august.

SickFinga 10-27-2003 02:38 AM

Last time I saw a car that put 10 cars on e36 m was a AA Turbo GENIII M3, 567 crank horsepower.

///MsAniTy 10-27-2003 02:43 AM

when did u see that happen

Bigbore 10-27-2003 04:43 AM

daaamn over 500hp?! when was that?? whos car is that?

OK, now im not so sure of what he`s got! would a stock 2.7TT pull 13s all day? I think it`s a much to heavy body for the stock motor to pull that fast isnt it?

Well im going to ask him tommrow and post it, it does seem funny that i would have pulled on the M3 that hard if they have the same amount of power. Could have been a fake M3 then.. but damn i couldnt have seen the diff if a real one was beside it.

i dont know for a fact that 1. my car weighs 2495pounds 2. was running @10psi which should technically mean over 225whp.

SickFinga 10-27-2003 06:23 AM

Didnt see it personally, but i saw Josh's M3 video, his car pulls like a mofo.

Bigbore, 13.9 and 13.1 are still 13.
So which 13 he was running?
With that setup i see you killing m3, but not that bad as 10 car nstantly
