$1000 To Much For An Old E28 ???
Hi all, Im trying to get a price range for some old E28s.

Im in search for an E28 and I can not find any that are turn key condition . Decided to just buy one that needs a little TLC and go from there.

Im not planning to make it a snow queen or do a full restoration , just want a classic car that will turn heads and be reliable to do about 5-8000kms per year.

Would you pay $1000 for an 87 535is/5 that is in need of at least $1500 worth of parts to make it road worthy(some body damage and mechanical) or about $3000 to make it good looking and reliable ?

$1000 535is....good luck! Might happen, in time, with lots of luck....

I found this car.

Its 60km away from me. Trying to find out if its worth the trip

Asking $1000

body looks clean...needs a bumper, cosmetics minor repair on the hood and fender. interior looks a bit rough but heck! won't know until you get out there to see it..that's the chance you take.

Check the left front frame rail to see if it's not tweaked. A rule of thumb on old BMW's is the price you pay plus 1500 TO 2000 to get it the way you want unless you are really anal. Looks pretty good otherwise.

Its sold. I called to buy it. Bought an e24 635CSi instead.

I feel kind of stupid... Car was sold before I posted this. Saw the car on the weekend and posted a thread before i even called the guy ( insert facepalm here)

Oh well, Ill keep looking

^^^Don't feel too bad, that 535is had frame damage FOR SURE! I was about to go pick it up the 1st day it came out, but decided against it, due to the extensive damage...

Back when I had my e28 on the road I woulda bought that car In a heartbeat for that front spoiler and those sport seats. I picked up a 535is years back just for the front spoiler, along with probably 3 or 4 Others just for parts. I still might have a few e28 parts around if anyone needs Anything seeing everyone wants one all of a sudden.

Also, terry I will be selling a white e24 This year if your looking for a donor car.

hahahahah, you will be lucky if you find one as you describe for less than 8 to 10k all day long. the one that you posted the pics, need 5k to just fix the accident damage and on top of that who knows how much more you will end up putting in to it in order to make it reliable.;)
