Good racing! Too bad some of the cars seemed to be duds, but overall a great night!

SamE30e 01-18-2010 09:53 PM

It was good racing, but most of it depended on the kart you got, some are quicker then others.

Karts definitely make a difference. The varience seems to be +/-1sec. I could feel Devon pushing me on the straights, so I kept a tight blocking line through the twisties sacrificing fast lap times for a secure position. He finally passed me on the cool-down lap (LOL!) - too bad the race was already over.

Same thing happened with me, I got out front and lost it to a faster car in the last turn, last lap.

Was a good event hope to see everyone in Feb.

Alright, I've got some REALLY GOOD NEWS.

Next event is on Feb 7 at 7pm. At this event and all others following, Grand Prix Kartways has agreed to turn up the wick to maximum velocity for all Trillium Members. This makes their karts approx. 20% faster, and a little more equal. HOWEVER, IF THERE ARE ANY SHENANIGANS GOING ON, OR SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING ON TRACK THAT MAKES THE MARSHALLS THINK WE CAN'T HANDLE IT, they will turn them down and that will be that. So please for all who are attending don't ruin it for the rest of us, because they only turn them up for their racing leagues and that is it. This is a hell of a privilege that they've allowed us. Also, we will be doing standing starts a la Formula 1 instead of the rolling starts. After the event all who want to will retire to the licensed restaurant for a social meeting. If you want to come, but don't want to go kart, just for the social that is cool too.

That's pretty awesome news John! Too bad I won't be able to make it out for this one... I'll be skiing in Ellicottville NY. Have fun!
