SS clutch line / CDV delete

Thanks to James for pointing out the references and the place where to get the SS clutch line.. Unfortunately, our M Coupes/M Roadsters came with the CDV inside the hose itself.. There is no valve that you can just delete to make things happy!.. I ordered the replacement hose from the states and after a week it arrived.. Went to RMP to get it installed.. WOW what a difference, no more jerking around when shifting to 1-2nd gear.. I wish I have done this a long time ago. *shiner*

Charlie just deleted mine and installed UUC ss line in it's place. All I can say is WOW!!!! I should have done this last year....

Ya.. the only thing I notice is there's a slight noticable sound when your shifting.. Maybe because the delay is gone now..

yay...finally you can drive it the way it meant to be driven...it should have come from the factory this way

best bang for buck upgrade IMO...=)

Willz.ca Will Zarasca is the guys name. He is a trillium instructor and has a parting out business based in Buffalo. He also works out of T.O. and will bring the parts across the border for you. He can get just about anything I would assume as he is constantly parting many bimmers. I can get you an actual # if you like. He seemed like a straight shooter, and I'll likely be doing business with him again soon. Dave

Thanks Dave.. I've done business with Will before and he's a good guy.

Where did you order the SS line from? i've been thinking about doing this for awhile now.

you can order one online at UUC or go to the stealer and buy clutch hose for normal Z3 but its not SS...i have part # if you need...

i had mine custom made by some racing parts supplier...benefit...customized inner diameter, orifices and its made of SS...about the same as UUC

You can get a 3.73:1 LSD diff from an e30 325i. Those will be bolt on to your car with the axle flange swapped over from your diff. You should also swap over the rear differential cover from your car.

Or ideally get a Randy Forbes re-enforcement kit that will allow you to use the dual ear differential cover from an e36. This fully strengthens the trunk floor as its suceptible to ripping right out.

Good luck :)

Make sure that it's an 5 spd 325iS, as they all came with 3.73LSDs. '87 325iS automatic came with a 3.73 LSD as well, '88-91 came with 4.10 LSD (automatics). On rare occasions 325i have LSD's.

The diff housing usually will have the ratio stamped right on it...

and its easy to tell if its an LSD.

BTW, you will also be able to use the e32 (7 series) and e34 (5 series) diffs (possibly the e28 as well but not 100% sure) if you want to get a specific ratio without rebuilding. be sure to check that its an LSD.

BMW motorsport also has rack and pinion gears available if you want to pick up the gears and just swap those out from yours.
