Stolen Vehicle - Keep an eye out for...

If you have anti-honda comments, please keep them to yourself this time. Asking for some assistance from members here.

Fire-engine red 2000 Honda Civic SiR. Stolen from Wilson subway station. This car had multiple alarms, separate fuel, and engine kill switches... as well as a whole bunch of other security. Even if they got past all that, it would not have been drivable for more than a few meters before the engine would cut out. It was likely towed away. Possibly towed to a nearby area for a few days to clear sattelite tracking. So keep an eye out for the next few days before she is chopped up. Wilson subway / Yorkdale area.

Thanks,
Justin

P.S. There are only 4 fire-engine red Civic SiR's in Toronto, so if you see one let me know ASAP. If you can get up close it is easily identifable by the black (not gray) and red interior.

Sorry about your buddy's loss, but GOOOOOD LUCK man!

You know as well as i do that its a honda, and on top of all that a Sir, i really hope he finds it, but its highly unlikely. That car is already in a million pieces, and the engines been ripped out already! I know this cause i used to know guys that were into these things and when a car like this gets stollen theres such a high demand for these motors this thing gets taken apart within hours!!

Looked like a hot car, my buddy has a turbo red Sir (its from the states so its a Si technically) and he locks that thing up in a garage and takes his other car if his gonna be parking somewhere else.

Again, i'll always keep an eye out, and i really hope your buddy does get it back in one piece!

EuroSpectacle 02-16-2006 03:21 PM

ill keep an eye out on the scarberia side of things

spooner_dee 02-16-2006 05:31 PM

wasnt repo'd was it?

AMI Motorsports 02-16-2006 07:26 PM

Sorry to hear will keep my eyes out for it up here. Post those on all the other boards like TCC, TI, TSR, etc etc. Make it hard for the thieves to sell the parts publicly.

Primus 02-16-2006 07:37 PM

why would someone spend so much money on security for a honda?

sorry but was there something special about it?

DAN328 02-16-2006 07:46 PM

why would someone spend so much money on a custom stereo on an old ass, high km pickup truck? answer: because the personal value of one's posessions is beyond what can be seen in the public's eye.

Primus 02-16-2006 09:15 PM

my trucks not old ass!

and i didnt mean it like that, i was wondering why someone would have so much protection for what appears to be just a regular civic

Haegl 02-16-2006 09:24 PM

damn man.. that sucks.. I had a theift attempt on my teg last week I know how u feel. I caught the bastards in the middle of trying to steal it, but they drove away before I could get their plates.

I'll keep an eye out for that one, hope you find her

Bimmer Heaven 02-16-2006 11:55 PM

Good luck, i hope they find the shell and who did it, because most likely that car is in pieces by now. If they were good enaugh to bypass all that security, then they are not simple joyriders and they know what they are doing...

paul christians 02-17-2006 12:11 AM

that car is gone man, but luck on finding it one piase man...sorry about his car too......

Axxe 02-17-2006 12:15 AM

Good luck. A friend of mine lost his 7th gen a month or so ago. He didn't care though, it was stock, and sucked. SiR's are definately nice though.

Jon@Bimmersport 02-17-2006 12:55 AM

how do u know theres only 4?

DAN328 02-17-2006 01:23 AM

Its not a regular civic retard, its an SiR model.

propr'one 02-17-2006 01:40 AM

Soldo & others: everyone here knows the reality of what happens to cars like this that are stolen, but lets stay positive*th-up*

seen this car in person, huge loss. i still can't believe they figured out how to steal it. im telling you, stephen hawking stole it!!

in any case, will keep an eye out, ask friends to do the same:)

rofl...lets see:

12,675 posts vs 21 posts...bad start to MAX

Jon's knowledge on Honda's vs Yours...i know his is better

Your comment vs His comment...you called Jon a retard when clearly Jon has a questionable thought since a lot of SI-R's are debadged in Toronto (the color i dont know...)

BTW Jon was questioning how Justin knew "there are only 4 Fire Engine Red SI-R in toronto" if you interpreted it wrong DAN328

Jim .E. 02-17-2006 01:48 AM

with all do respect, Justin that civic like everyone said is gone...RaceWorld had an amazing EG6 and it got stolen right infront of the owners eyes (inside Karate class, turned around, thieves driving off with it while he ran after it)...

they still havent found that car...gl with what Insurance gives back

I think you might want to get to know the people better before you diss them... I think he might know a thing or two about Civics:D

Justin e36 02-17-2006 03:02 AM

I realize there's a good chance the car is already stripped, I also realize that many times the vehicle is moved to an undisclosed location for 3-4 days to see if it is claimed via Boomerang or OnStar* (sattelite tracking), if the vehicle is not claimed during this time then it is transported to be stripped, or for shipping. Especially a vehicle with this much custom security, I'm sure they would be careful before stripping. This is why I ask if you see it parked somewhere, or in transport, to let me know... it's still fairly rare, for a Civic, in this city.

Justin

paul 02-17-2006 08:25 AM

This is the reason i block my bimmer in my chicks driveway with her car. But u have to think this way if anyone wants anyones car it is gone dosent mater what u do to it. Its called car jacking.......cars cant out run guns.

EuroSpectacle 02-17-2006 10:55 AM

Justin

So, this car had a boomerang and still no luck?

felixthecat6 02-17-2006 04:41 PM

With that much alarm equipment and kill switches..i highly doubt this car was "stolen"....sounds like an insurance job to me..couple thou for the car +the insurance money, hell of a deal..

propr'one 02-17-2006 04:53 PM

felix, why would justin post it on the net if it was an insurance job? this is his family member's car? think before you post:)

DAN328 02-17-2006 05:54 PM

actually i was calling primus a retard.

Ive had a few friends with these cars,GSR integras aswell..ppl are allways asking them to have it stolen so they can strip it..you get the money in parts, and the insurance money..ive seen it so many times..and hey,i'd do it too if i had one:)

A~G 02-17-2006 10:26 PM

I think I saw a red civic like that on the DVP... its gonna be impossible to distinguish. Is there anything that makes it stand out? I mean.. finding an 'original' civic is like looking up 'Chang' in the phone book.

I was on the DVP @ 5:00ish.. going northbound.
Can't really picture where I was at the time... somewhere between the Don Mills exit and Eglinton i think...

Goodluck !
