2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

Im not a fan of Saleen, but I cant deny that this is impressive. If the S7 wasnt powerful enough, they have added two turbos

750 hp @ 6300 rpm
700 lb-ft @ 4800 rpm
Weight 2950 lbs
1/4 Mile 10.7 seconds @ 136 mph
0-60 2.8 s

i dont know if its 2.8, but.. ya...

enzo would take it and so would mclaren F1.

How do you figure?

and by "take it" do you mean on the track or in a straight line?

maxx318i 05-26-2005 05:47 PM

i'd say both.
mclaren still maintains its status as the fastest car in the world.
unless, my information is outdated, care to update me with the future? *wave*

btw.. my friend's Benz hase 35 more torque than S7, but its a little on the heavy side 2....lol

Koeinsigg (sp?) and bugatti have both beaten F1 for fastest car.

your friend's benz might have more torque, but weight has a LOT to do with it.

Enzo is 3,230 lbs with only 650 bhp & 485 lb ft Torgue. it does 0-60 in 3.3s and quarter in 11.1 (slower than saleen)

Mclaren F1 is 2840lbs with 627 hp & 479 lb ft of torque. It does 0-60 in 3.4s and the quarter in 11.6 (slower than Saleen)

So, straight line speed they're both slower. Track handling is another issue of course.

Gamite 05-26-2005 06:04 PM

But of course, if you want straight line speed, you gotta get one of these!! :D

Saleen actually handles REALLY good.

moerom 05-26-2005 06:09 PM

The Saleen would give the Enzo and Carrera GT a hard time both on a highway and on Laguna Seca.

paul christians 05-26-2005 06:19 PM

s7 is very under rated here............

Not only is the Mclaren beaten is straight line, it also lost the quickest lap time.
The Enzo is the fastest car (track), but i'd love to see how the S7 does.

Actually, Carrera GT has Enzo beat on the track.

Ryousuke 05-26-2005 10:58 PM

I'd still take an Enzo, Carrera GT, McLaren over a Saleen. McLaren F1 LM did something like 2.8 to 2.9 to 60mph and then again we are comparing a car made in 1992 to a cars being made in 2005 so atleast thats going to have to tell you something
