Lf e21

I am looking for an e21 323i or 320i. I do not want mint as this car will be gutted and frankensteined!

yessiR 03-28-2012 10:54 AM

how much are you looking to spend. I have one but it'll set you back closer to $5000

No thanks. I'll spend what I have to, to get the right car. But I've seen seen shells for as little as 500$

By the sound of it yours is probably a bit too mint for me to gut.

seller is an enthusiast, car is in great shape...engine/drivetrain is, well...32 years old.

Hey thanks guys.

I emailed the guy with the blue 320i. it looks really good in the pictures, might be a shame to gut... I tossed him a low ball, I hope he bites so I can get this project rolling!

Just curious what you plan to run for wheels on this project... Are you making an exact visual replica, or just sort of 'based' on that idea of the widebody, etc?

Hey, I'm not sure about wheels yet, but obviously something wide... I'd like to find a set of the original bbs that they ran, but we'll see.

the idea is to create a visually and functionally exact copy. my father in law is a custom metal works manufacturer and seems to think its possible. The drivetrain as of now is going to be a boosted 2.7 M20.. I'm aiming for between 300hp and 350hp. This is going to be a track only car, I dont intend on sparing any expense and really want to do it right!

i'll be keeping an eye on what you build, I have been eyeing a few e21's myself for a track rat rod kinda build.

I have found a few for around $1500 mark with solid bodies, and decent cars at that price. Don't' lowball E21 owners, they actually know what they have most of the time, you have to go see the car before you make an offer with classic car owners!

I think I am going to do another E30 first though, save the e21 for when I build the new shop at the back of the lot so I have somewhere to keep both.

Damn, wish I had seen this before. I think I saw an e21 for sale out in brantford but couldn't tell you where. Looked rough though.

Vrbovsky 04-02-2012 11:56 PM

If someone drives to my house in an E21... they can drive away in my E30!!! but bring extra cash... Trades welcome!
