bumper question

Does anyone know if an M3 front bumper OEM from an e46 2003 fit on an E46 2001 sedan 4dr ?

no, it doesn't

Not directly since the m3 has wider fenders but it can be done. You'll have to modify it. A lot of people have it done and have some DIY's up and you should be able to find them on e46fanatics.com

Yea, HIM is right.

But instead of getting the OEM M3 bumper and do extensive modifications to have it to fit right/flawlessly, you should just get the replica sedan M3 bumper that are made from plastics, ive seen them and they actually look pretty good. Cause getting the OEM M3 bumper (2001 and up), you will also need to get a new re-bar, the Carbon Fiber ones, u can't use your stock re-bar. So that'll cost u even more money. Do your research on this.

some guy on e46fanatics, his sig has a pic of his car with the e46 M3 OEM bumper and it says he fit it on without any modifications, so it seems like it can be done

True say, but the fitment is NOT going to be perfect, if ure really anal about your car, ull notice the lines won't match up, and it would bulge on some locations.

yup fitament will NOT be perfect, however take it into a trusted bodyshop and it will be near perfect with the right guys working on it :)

in the end it's just cheaper, and better fitting to get a aftermarket bumper of somekind

Yea, Grand Tuningwerks sells aftermarket m3 bumpers with really good fitment http://www.gtuningwerks.com/feature03.html

I've seen some of the replica bumpers line up awful as well. It's like a game of chance with those, either you luck out or you don't.
