1993 325is Track/Street car

I want to test the waters again before I part the car out. I'm thinking that the $14k range might be more appropriate. If you are interested in a particular part please PM me directly rather than clutter this thread.

Base car is a 1993 325is. Black exterior and interior. ~140k's on body and about the same on M3 drive-train. I bought the car (stock) from the original owner (a neuro-surgeon in Toronto) about 8 years ago. Original paint - nearly perfect. Some stone-chips on the front. Car has not be winter driven by me and shows it.

The modifications list is extensive - here is what I recall:
- Engine. S52. OBD1 conversion. UUC flywheel with e34 M5 clutch kit and high-performance friction plate. M50 intake. RMS Stage 1 S/C with 38lb injectors. Custom tuned by MarkD. Aluminum rad. M3 cats. B&B cat-back Exhaust. Stewart water pump. Has not been dyno'd - but should be in the 330-350hp range.
- 5 speed tranny from the M3. UUC tranny mounts with reinforcement. Redline oil. MZ3 short-shifter
- Full M3 rear-end. 3.23 LSD with Redline oil. UUC bushings throughout. M3 sub-frame reinforcement plates welded in place.
- Suspension - Ground Control coil-over track suspension. Adjustable Koni's front and back. Adj. Camber Plates. RSM's. 400/450lbs springs. TC Kline sway bars. Welded rear sway-bar re-reinforcement.
- Brakes - M3 rears. E46 330 fronts. M3 master brake cylinder. Dot 4 Racing fluid. Street pads and Track pads - CarboTech. SS lines.
- Interior - Black and almost MINT. M3 Vader seats front, M3 rears. M3 steering wheel, shifter. UUC pedals. Black M3 headliner with one-touch sunroof. 18 button OBC. Clarion head-unit. Schroth 4-point harness and stock 3 point.
- OEM Staggered M68 wheels (and spare) with Falken Azenis tires. Track tires/wheels available.
- Body - M3 front/rear bumpers. Twisty sides. M3 door moldings. M3 rear spoiler. Front splitters (not installed). Depo headlights with 6k HIDS. Fogs not currently installed. M3 mirrors.
- Custom trailer-hitch. Custom 'track' trailer holds tires and a large box for all your stuff.

I don't know what you're on about here. A stock E36 M3 at this sort of mileage will fetch $10-12K [or more]. This car has been modified to the point where it is essentially such an M3. On top of that it has some serious engine and suspension work that I think warrant the price that he is asking [providing everything is in good shape of course, I wouldn't know].

This isn't a car I aspire to own (so free bump for this thread) but it is about what I would like to do to an e36. GLWS.

The car is in near immaculate shape. It is properly maintained and shows it. Redline in the drivetrain and Mobile 1 in the engine.

There are a few issues that need to be sorted.
- One wheel sensor needs to be replaced. I will have this done.
- Drivers side door - the latch that holds the door open is not engaging.
- Slight wear on drivers side seat bolster.

Let's be respectfully realistic. Its a 7-8K car to the right, optimistic, buyer
I mean, it doesn't even have foglights...

Just playing the devils advocate here but a civic with all the integra type-r mods and "more" would really quite add up to the price of a real Type-r :)

Fail. Sorry I meant "wouldn't" add up to the price of a type-r.

$100 worth of missing foglights is the deal breaker?

Exactly. 100$. So why aren't they on when he is asking for the sky and the moon.

doogee 05-07-2012 08:25 PM

I don't think the seller is completely outrageous. The door panels alone are worth almost $1000

Unfortunately it's going to take a very specific buyer to spend that kind of money.

davericher20 05-07-2012 09:06 PM

yikes.

GLWS?

You really have a hard on for fog lights, don't you?

OP, good luck with sale. It's sad how little e36's are worth these days, even with S52's and significant go-fast goodies on them.

sthomas 05-07-2012 09:24 PM

I have had many students ride with me over the years - their compliments are a real account of this cars beauty and performance. For those that can't see past their nose - so be it.

Fog lights were removed to get some additional cooling to the front brakes.

I know I will get more if I part it out - but the car is so nice and sorted it seems a real shame. My price is negotiable within reason.

That being said, if the motor (including S/C) gets bought, I will strip the rest of the car down and part it out. PM me if you have serious interest in the motor. I'll even tape some fog lights to it...

Thanks Axxe. I'm sure I have the foglights in a box - for anybody that thinks this is a deal breaker...
