i broke a lug bolt last night trying to take off a flat. How would I get out the remainder? Drill and re-tap? Is there a way without damaging the threading?

I drilled a small hole into the remainder, then hammered a old torx head screwdriver into the hole. The piece just unscrewed.

yea that might work.. and if you have a mig welder or any welder. you could just tack weld a nut on the stub thats broken off and then turn it out.

How much broke off? if its a decent amount still left just take off the wheel+rotor and some of it should still be sticking out past the hub mounting surface. Just take a pair of pliers or w/e and just turn it out by hand.

Its rare that they get broken when taking it out, most of the time is from people over torqueing them...In your case it might be hard, because the bolt is stuck...If it was broken the other way (putting it on) they are very easy to take off (because once broken there is no pressure).
I suggest getting the tool from Canadian Tire, or any automotive place, its your best bet...(and heating it up before will also help).

Is the wheel able to come off? Just replace the entire hub if the wheel can come off.
