Ok, i have this idea...tell me if there are any flaws or things i should consider.
Right now, i want to buy and m20 motor and rebuild the whole thing until summer time because funds are low.In the summer, i want to buy a 325ix(2door would be sweet) that has a shot motor or high km but a nice body. Then i swap the motors nad put a beastly turbo in it.

Now.... the questiones
- how long do u think the rebuilt motor would last?
- what other parts must i consider? ECU? Injectors? etc...
-and has anybody done this already or seen or heard about this being done to an ix?
-What would i do with my first love 325i?!?(i dont have alot of room on the driveway)

There is a turbo IX rally race car being buit in Quebec, But im pretty sure he will have a beefed up T-case and front diff. In your case just plain turbocharging the iX drivetrain will not last long and is a bitch/expensive to fix.

You cannot simply "swap" motors into an iX since the block/oiling system is a tad bit different versus the m20 found in RWD 325i's.

A properly rebuilt motor should last long as long as its not abused and all maintience is taken care of.

As for tuning for the turbo i would contact MarkD or start resarching megasquirt for affordable DIY standalone engine managment.

As for parts the m20's stock internals will stand mild boost if tuned properly. If you want retarded amounts of boost you will need to crack it open and go with stronger internals in the bottom end which will be $$ even if you're doing it yourself.

What you should do with your 325i is just drive it, and do some Auto-X or something to see how the car peforms.

For more detailed turbo m20 questions you should give 90E30i a PM.

Ya, i knew th ix motor is a bit different...but i didnt know exactly what....while doing this, i will be getting help from my dad who is been in the mechanic buisness for 35years. Ya, i was worried that someone would say youd probably need a beefier T-case. Expesive stuff

So you're planning to turbo an 2dr iX? Are you ready to pay $$$ for a beefier t-case and front differential?

well i figured if i did it over a coarse of 2 years or so, i could do afford it.

Do some more reading/research before you make up your mind on project. I would highly suggest doing some research on www.R3vlimited.com as well.

Also i may add before you go all to plan this build you also may want to adress things like suspension and braking most importantly before hand which will be moar $$$. You're gonna need bigger/wider wheels and tires to but power down as well. Like i said bud, Research:) i'll get you started. That is just an idea of what you and you 35++ years person will have to take on:

you dont need to share all your pipe dreams.

Also try not using worthless thread titles like you have so far.

Think before you Type/Click/Post/Reply.

If you don't have anything intelligent to say, stfu.
